Volunteer Call to Action
Come and join our Warm Coats for Kids volunteer team during our 2019/2020 winter season. This year, we have exciting new changes in hopes of reaching as many kids as possible. Not only will we be hosting a “Weekly Shop” at the Stanwood Senior Center from October through December, but this year we’re mobile! In a joint venture with the Stanwood Senior Center we have at our disposal a “little red bus” to take our coats to the kids. We are loading our bus with coats and volunteers to travel to schools and community events where families can come aboard and shop for coats. We have also been invited to several resource fairs at local schools in September so we’re going to need additional help minding our booth. Let us know if you’re interested in manning a booth, working at the “Weekly Shop” or aiding in our mobile warm coat express! Dates and times to be determined and released beginning in August to give you plenty of time to fit us in to your busy schedule. I look forward to meeting you!

The Christmas House provides the opportunity for parents to come shop free of charge for their children birth to 18years of age. Last year we were able to serve over 1,000 community children & provide them with an exciting and magical Christmas morning. Donations of gifts and clothing are essential to this program. The Christmas House is supported both with financial contributions and gift drives by organizations and individuals in our community. All gifts given out are new. Great gift ideas include anything meaningful you would give to your own child. We always fall short in gifts for teenagers as they can be so hard to shop for. We do accept gift cards. In December there will be several giving tree locations around our community. Please make sure they are for the Stanwood Camano Food Bank Christmas House. Donations may also be brought directly to the Christmas House locate at 9928 272nd Place, Stanwood, WA 98292 (The Caring Place location), or to the Stanwood Camano Food Bank.
Financial contributions should be made out to the Stanwood Camano Food Bank with Christmas House on the memo line, or you can donate by clicking the donate now button and selecting Christmas House under the “give donations to”. All donations are tax deductible, make sure to ask for a receipt if dropping off new gifts. If donating by check or online, a tax receipt will be automatically be mailed out to you.
